Guests are encouraged to visit Japan House anytime from 11am to 5pm to see the facility, walk the gardens, or to watch or participate in a traditional Japanese tea ceremony.
At 1:00pm, Japan House founder and Professor Emeritus Kimiko Gunji will be presenting her new cookbook, “The Art of Wagashi: Recipes for Japanese Sweets that Delight the Palate and the Eyes”. Professor Gunji will give a FREE presentation about the art of wagashi, its importance in the traditional Japanese Tea Ceremony, as well as her life-long journey of making wagashi and her inspiration to write a cookbook.
Traditional Japanese tea ceremonies will be offered for the special rate of $8 throughout the day at 11:30, 12:15, 2:15, 3:00, 3:45 and 4:30. Ticket includes a bowl of matcha tea and Japanese sweet, called wagashi, which will be made using the recipes from our new wagashi cookbook.
