This presentation will discuss the importance of local pollinator species. Whether you live in town or in the country, Jason will provide information on ways that every individual can help provide vital habitat for pollinators including Monarchs, honey bees, and all wildlife. He will discuss habitat concerns and solutions. He will also discuss how to design high quality native seed mixes.
This months speaker, Jason Bleich, is a Pheasants Forever Seed Program Conservation Specialist. Jason is a trained wildlife biologist with a Bachelors Degree in Wildlife Biology from Southern Illinois University. He has worked for Pheasants Forever as a Wildlife Biologist in Illinois for 6 years. Since 2017, he has served in his current role as the Seed Programs Conservation Specialist. During his time with Pheasants Forever, he has designed seed mixes and carried out restoration projects for a variety of conservation partners including USDA, USFWS, IDNR, SWCD, IDOT, energy companies, and private landowners. Previous to Pheasants Forever, Jason worked for multiple state wildlife agencies and USFWS, conducted university wildlife research, and worked for a private environmental consulting group.
