For current research-based information on growing tree fruits, attend the 2019 Tree Fruit School. This year's program features a wide range of topics to help you meet the challenges of commercial fruit production in Southwestern Illinois. Industry representatives will also be on hand to talk about their latest products and services.
Topics will cover updates on peach and apple insect and disease management, apple rootstocks, plus much more! Jeff Broom from Broom Orchard will discuss the 2018 year in review. Guest speakers include:
- Ifueko Osemwota from the FDA discussing FSMA and on-farm readiness reviews
- Dr. Beth Hall from the Midwest Regional Climate Center discussing climate data, information and services available to specialty crop growers
- Dr. Michele Warmund from the University of Missouri covering diagnosing dicamba drift
This year's school will take place on February 7, 2019, at the Knights of Columbus Hall three miles south of Hardin.
Registration includes one copy of the 2019 Midwest Spray Guide.
Advanced registration by February 1 is $40.00 per person, lunch included.
Orchards sending more than one employee: $40.00 for the first person and $30.00 for each additional person. Lunch is included.
Registration at the door is $50.00 per person, lunch included
