Reduce Diabetes Risks with Wake Up Call Prediabetes Nutrition Workshop
More than 1 and 3 adults in Illinois have prediabetes, according to the Illinois Department of Public Health. Higher than normal blood glucose levels raise your risk of heart disease and stroke as well as type 2 diabetes. Learn how you can lower your diabetes risk in two free University of Illinois Extension classes Wake Up Call – Eating to Avoid Diabetes.
In Wake Up Call, learn about small steps you can take, from losing a small amount of weight to choosing healthier foods, that can help prevent prediabetes from developing into diabetes.
For more information, see the Wake Up Call: Eating to Avoid Diabetes flyer (pdf).
