One of the main joys of having a garden is the ability to grow show-stopping plants – not just in the garden, but cut and used indoors. The cliché “stop and smell the flowers” is really true – they’re part of our emotional well-being. Their value measured not only by their beauty but the emotions they evoke.
This program will look at the different annual and perennial plants that can provide an abundance of cut flowers through the seasons with emphasis on low-input and maximum impact. Holly Froning, Master Gardener Coordinator, University of Illinois Extension will take you through the steps in planning the garden, which varieties are best for cutting purposes, and how to handle the flowers for longevity.
Cost: There is a $5.00 fee for this presentation.
Registration: Please register by calling the Kankakee County Extension Office at the number provided by March 4, 2019.
