Did you know that the grapevine is one of the oldest cultivated plants in the world? Home gardeners in Illinois can successfully produce grapes to be eaten fresh (table grapes) or processed into jam, jelly, juice. In addition to its food value, a grapevine can also be an attractive addition any avid gardener’s landscape.
Whether you already grow grapes or are thinking of getting started, join Holly Froning Master Gardener Coordinator with University of Illinois Extension, as she presents tips on growing grapes in a backyard setting. Included will be a discussion of variety selection, site selection, planting guidelines, pruning, and pest control.
Cost: There is a $5.00 fee for this presentation.
Registration: Call the Kankakee County Extension Office to reseve your spot by February 26, 2019.
