Winter Safety for Pets

This session will address specific concerns related to the winter and holiday seasons, such as frost bite and exposure to the elements, grooming issues during the winter, dangerous resting places and roaming cats, existing ailments that are aggravated by weather conditions, animal clothing appropriate for certain situations, and common seasonal toxins.

Registration

Maximum registration is 60 individuals per session. Although Pet U is designed to provide you with information about caring for your pets, these sessions are open to humans only.

 

The registration fee covers the cost of handout materials and refreshments. Payments must be enclosed to guarantee registration. The prices listed below are per person, per session. The early registration deadline is that which is indicated with each session listing. 

 

On or Before Early Registration Deadline - $8
After Early Registration Deadline - $13

 

Course fees are payable by check or money order to the University of Illinois or by Visa, MasterCard, Discover, or American Express and are due at the time of registration. Early registration is recommended.

Location
The series will be held at the University of Illinois Veterinary Teaching Hospital, which is located at 1008 W. Hazelwood Dr., Urbana, Ill. All lectures will be held in room 80 of the Small Animal Clinic.

 

Session Check-In
Session materials will be available on the day of the session just inside the entrance of the Small Animal Clinic beginning at 6:00 p.m. on the evening of each session.

 

Cancellation Policy
Full refunds will be given if written notification is received by the published early registration deadline. Written cancellation should be sent to the
 Office of Public Engagement or to the same mailing address to which registrations are sent. Registrations are transferable. After the published early registration deadline for each session, refunds will not be made.

 

We reserve the right to cancel programs and to change speakers if necessary. In the event of course cancellation, all registrants will receive a full refund. The University is not responsible for travel expenses in the event of a cancellation.

 

Parking
Attendees may park in lot F27 and follow the signs to the check-in at the entrance to the Small Animal Clinic. The entrance to the F27 lot is off of S. Lincoln Ave. Attendees should NOT park in the Large or Small Animal Clinic parking lots. These lots are reserved for evening clients and staff.
