Following the crash of the U.S. housing market and bottoming out of the stock market, our country plummeted into a national economic crisis. Amidst rising unemployment and falling GDP, Obama and Congress responded by passing the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act. Fred Giertz examines the impact of these crises on the Illinois economy and what the road to recovery will look like.
