University of Illinois Extension is bringing you, Yes! You CAN: Preserving Practice - Pickles & Pickled Products
Before coming to this hands-on program, participants are asked to view a series of videos (approximately 45 minutes) and review safe, home canning instructions (approximately 15 minutes.) Participants will need to be able to access the internet to view these. Once registered, you will be emailed detailed instructions on accessing the videos and handouts.
This class will offer you plenty of hands-on experience in preparing pickles and pickled products! You’ll learn how to can pickles and pickled products and identify trouble-shooting remedies. You’ll also have the opportunity to review the basics of home canning, receive the latest safety guidelines, and practice hands-on canning in the kitchen! You’ll receive plenty of resources and recipes, as well as jars of the products you prepare in class to take home and enjoy. Preserving Practice: Pickle Products is taught by Jenna Smith, University of Illinois Extension Nutrition & Wellness Educator and Registered Dietitian.
Cost: There is a fee of $15 per person for this class.
