View Japan House's unique, rarely-seen collections of tea equipment, kimonos, armor, calligraphy works and more in a gallery type setting. Free demonstrations/presentations will take place each afternoon, followed by an opportunity to participate in a traditional Japanese tea ceremony. On Thursday at 2:00 pm, Japan Illini Club 2017-18 Scholarship recipient, Shunto Nambu will give a demonstration and discussion on katagami (paper stencils for dyeing textile for kimonos). Tea ceremony will follow at 4:00 pm.
Cost: Tea ceremony is $8 for student/Tomonokai and $10 for general public. All else is free.
