About the Day Camp
Bonding With Chemistry - A Day Camp for Girls, is organized by Women Chemists Committee (WCC) every summer to expose middle school girls to chemistry and sciences in the laboratory and in every-day life.
In the past, this hands-on camp has included topics such as electrochemistry, art chemistry, chemistry of the earth, chemistry in cooking, polymers, and more! In addition to participating in various chemistry-related activities and experiments throughout the day, the girls are also taught how to make scientific observations and follow experimental procedures in their designated laboratory notebooks.
Led by current graduate students and faculty, the event is all about playing and learning in chemistry, in an attempt to encourage girls entering 6th to 8th grade in Fall 2018 to become excited about chemistry!
