WINTER SESSION:    January 3 - 13, 2017

IFLIP is a unique learning opportunity offered during the summer and winter breaks.

  • Open to members of the University community and to the general public.
  • Classes meet Monday through Friday, 3 hours a day, for two weeks, except holidays.
  • Taught by advanced graduate students or faculty.
  • Courses focus on conversational skills, travel preparation and language survival skills.
  • There is minimal homework, no attendance policy, and no academic credit.


Levels of Instruction

  • Elementary - for participants with no prior experience or formal training in the language
  • Intermediate - for participants with the equivalent of one year of college-level instruction in the language
  • Advanced - for participants with the equivalent of two or more years of college-level instruction in the language

Cost (Payment must be made at registration)

  • Illinois students - $100
  • Faculty, staff, and retirees - $125
  • General public - $150

  • Biblical Greek, Elementary (1 pm - 4 pm)
  • Biblical Latin, Elementary (9 am - 12 pm)

  • French, Advanced (9 am - 12 pm)
  • German, Elementary (9 am - 12 pm)
  • Italian, Elementary (9 am – 12 pm)
  • Italian, Intermediate (9 am - 12 pm)
  • Portuguese, Elementary (5:30 pm - 8:30 pm)
  • Russian, Elementary (9 am - 12 pm)
  • Spanish, Elementary (9 am – 12 pm)
  • Spanish, Intermediate (9 am - 12 pm)
  • Spanish, Intermediate (5 pm - 8 pm)
  • Spanish, Advanced (9 am - 12 pm)

Registration

  • Priority registration date is November 1, 2016.
  • Classes with fewer than 10 participants by Dec 5, 2016 are subject to cancellation. Registration fee will be refunded in full if course is cancelled.

  • A $25 late cancellation fee will be deducted if cancelled after December 1, 2016.

  • There will be no refunds after the first day of classes.

  • Register online via the IFLIP Website.
