Offering leadership training and tailored educational programs to workers in Illinois is a key goal of the Labor Education Program.

Leadership events like the Regina V. Polk Women’s Labor Leadership Conference provide vital training and development to the future women and minority leaders of the organized labor force.

Union schools for a variety of trade and service unions are attended by both experienced members and new leaders, and feature subjects like grievance handling and processing, organizing, leadership and collective bargaining.

Current offerings include:

  • Midwest School for Women Workers
  • Polk Women's Labor Leadership Conference
  • Electrical Workers School
  • Firefighter Arbitration School
  • Postal Worker Education
