About the camp

Launched in summer 2014, One People’s Summer Arts Camp provides community-centered arts education at no cost to youth in the Champaign-Urbana area.

Kids ages 9-14 spend the week exploring and engaging their creativity through the arts. Each day, campers participate in activities designed to help nurture their artistic talents while fostering friendships and community. They also meet and enjoy special guest performances by community artists throughout the week.

Each camper picks one of the following activities to focus on for the week: Vocal Performance, Dance, Creative Writing, and Visual Arts.

After all of their hard work, the week ends with a show put on by the kids for their families and community members.

One People's Summer Arts Camp is a special and fun week. It aims to inspire creativity, affirm individuality, and build community.
