Description:

Excite young people in math and science!

At the ASM Materials Camp, find out how to use low cost/no cost, simple labs and experiments using everyday materials that can be integrated into existing lesson plans to actively engage students in applied science. As an added benefit, earn CEU or graduate credits!

Dates & Times

The ASM Materials Camp will take place on the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign campus June 20-24, 2016. This is a full day (8:00am - 5:00pm), 5-day workshop.

Eligibility

High school teachers (public, private, independent) in math, science, and technology are invited to apply. Junior high school teachers may be considered for the program if there is room.

Cost

The camp is free, plus there is no registration fee. Snacks and lunches will be provided.

Housing

Housing at a campus residence hall (to include breakfast/dinner) will be provided for teachers who are not within easy driving distance of Champaign-Urbana. A limited number of rooms are available. Questions about housing should be directed to the Materials Science and Engineering Department, not the ASM Foundation. For more information about housing, contact Cindy Brya (phone number listed on left).
