Join the University of Illinois band faculty and special guest H. Robert Reynolds in this two-day symposium which includes conducting, rehearsal techniques, repertoire, pedagogy and educational philosophy. Professor Reynolds currently conducts the Wind Ensemble at the University of Southern California, and is Director of Bands Emeritus at the University of Michigan.

There is no better conducting teacher and pedagogue in the wind band world today. Not only will you have the opportunity to work with outstanding musicians, you will meet new people, make new friends, and establish network contacts while broadening your musical and educational framework.

Professional Development Hours Available

Illinois Teachers can receive Professional Development Hours for participating in the Illinois Band Conductors Symposium.  If you are an out of state teacher the University can prepare a general University CEU to mirror the instate ISBE PDH option.  You must contact Illinois Bands when you register if you want to pursue these options.
