Everyday Arts Lab (EAL) enables University of Illinois undergraduate and graduate students to offer free youth arts programs in Champaign-Urbana. Launched in 2013, students have performed a needs assessment, researched national models, and designed and implemented projects at the Champaign Public Library, Stratton Elementary School, Figure One, and the Don Moyer Boys and Girls Club. In its first year, students have offered 72 hours of free arts programming to over 230 youth who otherwise would not have had access to such programs.
EAL is funded in part by Curtis C. Nash Children’s Creativity Fund (Community Fund of East Central Illinois).
