University Visit Options
The University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign hosts multiple types of programs designed to get you acquainted with our campus. These visit days may include presentations, interactive student panels, campus tours, and residence hall tours. You may even be able to attend a lecture!
Admitted Student Days
From February to April, these day-long programs are designed to help you get to know your future home firsthand. If you choose to visit on an Admitted Student Day, you are invited to a WIE luncheon where you will be an upperclassman in your major (the dates include: February 19, March 5, March 26, March 30, April 2, April 6, April 16, and April 20). Following the luncheon will be a brief student panel where our women engineering students will share their passion for Engineering at Illinois. Register for the WIE luncheon here.
Daily Visits for Admitted and Prospective Students
The University offers daily visit programs, consisting of admissions information, financial aid, housing, etc. After you sign up for a daily campus visit, register for a Women in Engineering Meet and Greet (1:15-1:45 pm) to talk with current women engineering students. The WIE Meet and Greet occurs before the Engineering campus tour and information session, which should allow you time to get to the Engineering tour if you signed up for that activity. Please note the Spring 2018 WIE Meet and Greet starts on January 29 and will end on May 2. There will be no WIE Meet and Greets on the following dates: February 19, March 5, March 19 – March 27, March 29, March 30, April 2, April 3, April 5, April 6, April 16, and April 20.
Engineering Information Bureau Days
Our student-run Engineering Council offers various visit options for prospective students. Please visit the EIB website for more information about campus visits and the Shadow an Engineer Program.
Orange & Blue Days
In the spring and fall, the University hosts Orange and Blue Days—larger, day-long programs for prospective students and their families. In the fall, Orange and Blue Days are also available for prospective transfer students. If you choose to visit on an Orange and Blue Day, you will also be invited to a WIE afternoon reception where current women engineering students will be available for questions and discussion.
